Basil PerchPresident
Prior to starting BJ Perch Construction, Basil served as a district manager for a Central Valley-based construction firm. In the course of his career, Basil has been involved in more than five million square feet of industrial, commercial and health care construction. He has been an active participant in numerous construction-related civic organizations, most notably as founding member of Visalia’s Building Review Committee and the Economic Development Committee. He brings more than 45 years of experience to the business, and is actively engaged in the day-to-day operation of the firm.
BJ PerchVice President
During his summers in high school and college, BJ Perch got an early education in construction by working on the company’s framing crews. BJ earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and holds California Contractor’s license no. 955255, Class B.
After college, BJ joined a large design/build general contracting firm in Silicon Valley. After learning the ropes on fast-paced and complex projects, he returned to Visalia to join BJ Perch Construction as vice president, overseeing the estimating, preconstruction and construction services.
BJ takes a hands-on approach, following his father’s initiative to “partner” with his clients by putting their interests first. He believes that maintaining this mindset is why ninety percent of the company’s work is repeat business. “It makes decisions easy,” he says. “I just ask myself, what would I do if this was my building?”
